Product Description

The Evolution Motion Auto-Adjusting Electronic Oxygen Conserver by Drive matches oxygen dose to patient activity level, therefore saturates patients more efficiently and conserves oxygen more effectively than any other conserver on the market. The Evolution Motion comes with a programmable rest and active setting which allows you to receive more oxygen when the unit senses that you are active and need more oxygen. The motion detection technology will sense inactivity and revert to the rest setting. Due to this technology the Evolution Motion Electronic Oxygen Conserver delivers a 5:1 savings ratio at all the settings the unit has available. The unit has a minimum 1 year batter life and utilizes 2 AA Batteries for added convenience. The Evolution Motion Electronic Oxygen Conserver delivers a uniform oxygen pulse which ranges from 14-40 breaths per minute. The unit has many different Liter flow increments which can be set at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Plus a Continuous Flow preset at 2 Liters Per Minute which allows the unit to be accustomed for the patient using the unit. The operating pressure ranges from 200-3000 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch). The Evolution Motion Electronic Oxygen Conserver senses whenever the patient breathes and delivers oxygen only in the first half of the inspiratory cycle which allows for no wasted oxygen. The unit weighs only 14.9 ounces which is less than 1 pound. The unit has an auto shutoff feature which allows for longer battery life. Evolution Motion Electronic Oxygen Conserver Review

Of six or seven conservers I have used, the Evolution Motion Electronic Oxygen Conserver provides the most natural, comfortable breathing. This is a much newer design than the others, so I suppose it should be better. I have used one pneumatic conserver which just didn't feel right when I breathed (a Bonsai Velocity), and a no-name electronic conserver that I didn't care for. The others were fine. But this new unit provides satisfying, predictable breaths, and so far, I've never had it trigger an extra breath before I intended, or (believe it or not) fail to trigger when I inhaled (often a function of how stuffy my nose is).

The Evolution is fairly easy to set up and use, even though it is different from other conservers. It wasn't even hard to set up the Active and at Rest settings. On most units, you twist or roll a dial, or slide a switch to set 2 L or 3 L or whatever your oxygen requirement or prescription. On the Evolution, you press the little standing man icon to step through the oxygen quantity (1 thru 6) until the led lights by the right number. To set the Active oxygen quantity, same thing, except you press the picture of the walking man until the desired number is lit. From then on, at rest, you get the Rest volume until you get active (walking across the room) and then the Active number lights and you get a greater volume each breath. When you stop being active, the Evolution switches back to your at Rest setting after a variable period of time. Mine is set on 2L at Rest and 3L when Active.

I recommend the Evolution Motion mainly because it really works well. I don't find myself checking to see if it triggered or not. I hope it turns out to be as rugged as the last Drive product I had. Only time will tell.
