Mother In Law moved in with my wife and myself. She is 90 years of age but does get around fairly well. We had the manual recliners but the handles were to much for her to pull to raise her feet, plus she needed help getting out of our old chairs. For the price, this chair is not only beautiful but comfortable, raises so that you are pretty much standing. Word of caution, this is a three position chair but it has one single button on the controller. You can not raise the foot rest or lean back separate. This is all one motion, it will sit you down, the feet will come up and the back will go back a little with the foot rest level (or at it's max height). Keep holding the button and the back will go almost to a level position for sleeping. I can't remember the name of the chairs that do allow independent movement of the foot rest and back. They have three buttons and two motors unlike this single motor chair. Highly recommended, great price!
