I really like these plates and plan to use them again next year for our holiday party but I will definitely get the larger size. I marked out 4.7" on a piece of paper and thought that would be plenty big but I did not take into consideration the fact these plates have a large rim. The actual area where people can set food is closer to a 3.75 inch square. Not a whole lot of room. Overall, though, I like the look of these and appreciate the fact they are compostable.
