Wahl Chromado Cord-Cordless Clipper Review

I used to have a pair of Shaper Image clippers that did a pretty nice job on my head- that is until one day the blade plate fell off and shattered on the bathroom floor. Unfortunately, Shaper Image is no longer, so I couldn't find the same pair again. Thus began my search.

The problem was, almost every pair of clippers I found had polarizing reviews. People either loved them or hated them. In fact, the ONLY pair that only had positive reviews was this one. Granted it only had one review, but that, coupled with the Wahl brand name and the hefty price point, I figured they had to be good.

Good is an understatement. They are amazing. It's a tad embarrassing to be so excited over a pair of clippers, but after having tried a pair of Norelco's that butchered my head, I have to say, I have found clipper Nirvana. They are quiet, they hold a very long charge. They are well made and have some weight to them. They cut extremely close. They cut evenly. They are as sharp as a razor. And one of the best features of all, there is a battery gauge so you know when to recharge them.

About the only thing I would say negative about them is that the charging base is a bit over-sized and bulky, making it not ideal for traveling. Fortunately, it holds a charge for quite some time, so chances are for most trips, this would never be an issue since you can leave the base behind.

As for the price, don't let it turn you off. You'll spend that much in haircuts in a matter of months anyway. And besides, most clippers are about 40 bucks. So, figure this is 3X the price for the 3X the quality. I say splurge on yourself. You won't regret it.

Wayne 2-Drawer Dry Heat Electric Sterilizer Review

So I got it today and immediately I can see that this is a good piece of equipment. I had it shipped to my home just in case it stinks when you run it for the first time, fortunately no stink. My home is at an elevation of 8,400 feet with humidity @ 94%, I will be taking this oven down to my office which is at 5,535' elevation here in Colorado. I set the temp. gauge to 7 1/2 and it took approx. 15 min. to get to the temp. of 345. Once to temp. I set the timer for one hour and watched the oven. I noticed that the temp. would drop to 340 and then the elements would kick back on and bring the unit right back up to 345 with accuracy. Also during that one hour time period I repeatedly put my hands on the unit to see how hot the outside got. Not once did I feel like I was going to be burned, now don't get me wrong it does get hot but you would have to leave your hands on it for some time. If I do not come back and update this post it means this machine is working good. This oven is popular in my field of electrolysis (hair removal) so I already know that it has a good reputation. I am not worried one bit about it. What I really liked was ordering directly from Wayne Metal Products out of Florida (USA) :) free shipping and it was boxed flawlessly. Good job shipping and receiving.

I have post-polio syndrome and my left hand and fingers were becoming weak. Because of this, one day I was unable to get out of the bathtub. A friend of mine had to help me out. But with the purchase of this item I am now able to take a shower and not worry about not being able to get in and out of the bathtub. I also like how it has the back which gives me support amd a sense of security. There is a shower head holder close at hand as well. Philips Norelco Speed XL Shaver 8245XLD - SPECIAL VALUE Includes Extra Shaving Head Pack Review

I finally gave up on my Braun razor when the trimmer broke and I was just not satisfied with the closeness of shaves. I have had the Norelco8245XLD now for about a month and there is no comparison with the Braun, even though the Braun was tops in the Consumers Report a few years ago. Because the Norelco has rotary blades that travel in just one direction they can incorporate complex double blade cutting wheels that first lifts the whisker then cuts it below the skin line providing a closer shave then vibrating foil razors can. The Norelco's three floating heads do an excellent job following the contours of my face. There were whiskers on my neck that the foil razor could never seem to cut and I would occasionally have to cut them with a blade, the Norelco cuts them without a problem.

When I first turned on the razor after fully charging it I thought there was something wrong with it, it was so quite and it sounded like it wasn't up to speed-- not true-- it gave a great shave and the speed was fine, it just sounded so much more quite then the Braun.

Another nice thing about this razor is that you can flip open the shaving head without removing it and wash it with tap water-- no big docking station and expensive cleaning baths.

The razor holds a charge for over two weeks at least, I just recharge it at two week intervals. I would remove one star for not having a low battery light and no travel storage for the charger.
