Merkur VISION Adjustable Double Edge Safety Razor- With Metal Box-#2000- Review

Like many people who have gone back to the Safety Razor I was fed up with the major shaving companies constantly 'upgrading' and 'up selling' their razors. How many blades do you really need? 3,4,6,12?! When will the insanity stop. It just got to the point where I couldn't justify paying so much per cartridge for my razor.

So after a bit of research I settled on the Merkur Vision, and have never looked back. As solid a razor as you'll ever find the Merkur Vision gives one of the best shaves I've ever had. Yes, it does take more time to shave with a safety razor, but the end result is appreciably better than with the current 5 blade wonders. I expected to get a few nicks and cuts with this razor, seeing it's so sharp and such but to date I've only had one small nick (over a blemish) no more than with my other razor.

The Merkur Vision is well designed. The top is spring loaded so it's easy to replace blades (no threading like the other merkur models). It is heavier than most razors but I actually like that, being heavier really helps prevent you from feeling like you need to put any pressure on the blade, which with a safety razor isn't the best way to shave.

This razor is an investment, you'll be paying more upfront, but the life time ownership is going to be a lot less as replacement blades are at a fraction of the cost.

But cost aside, if you're looking for one of the best shaves out there, step up to the Merkur Vision. You'll never shave the same again.

I've been using this now for just over a year and I can say I've never been happier shaving. I get a perfect shave every single time, the blades are less than half the cost of the conventional 5-6 blade systems (which don't work nearly as well) and the razor has held up amazingly (it's as good as the day I bought it). Got this as a surprise for girl friend on a big night out. The different setting that it has can be a bit confusing but after a few times out i was able to get the hang of it. The range is only about 10 feet or so and there tends to be a lag of 5 or 10 sec from hitting the button till the pod activates. All in all a lot of fun to play secret games when out in public just wish it had a longer range.
